The Screening Room

In my high school, everyone is working on organizing each of the classrooms. We are in orientation right now, and we want the classrooms to work well for everyone that will be using them. In our school we make action projects, where we basically do or learn things and then make a blog post about it. We are also making a blog post for this project. We have been put into groups and the group I am in has been learning some things and doing work in a classroom called the screening room. We are going to be fixing up the screening room.

For this group project, we are supposed to work together. We talked about classrooms, and what makes a classroom better. We also talked about what makes a classroom not so great and how classrooms and schools have been like in the past. What we want is for the room to create an environment of comfort and efficiency. In order to see if it would be more comfortable (and how the room would feel), we moved the pews that were in the room to the other side of the room. Then some of us tested the floor. My group didn't like the pews at first but they are more comfortable than the floor so we decided to put them back to where they were in the beginning. Then we wondered what else to do, so we asked what classes would be in the screening room. In the screening room it turns out we will be doing journaling, mathematical modeling, and writing, so we took note of that. The problem was that there was no place to write in the screening room, since we were all just sitting on the floor or on pews. People started looking online for things at this time. We ordered some affordable clipboards for writing. We know that some of our teachers will need to play documentaries in this room so we thought a projector would be perfect. We asked around and we finally got a projector from a different room that didn't need it. There were a few tables on one side of the room and we thought they would be great for things like group assignments. We decided to move them a bit so they were arranged like a U. We also thought a whiteboard would be great, so we got one of those too. The last thing was that we needed chairs for the tables! So we all went downstairs and grabbed one chair each form the available chairs and brought them up. We have to wait for the clipboards to arrive and to set up the class fully, but we are done with the idea, we even have a blueprint and some pictures.

To sum up everything we did, we made a blueprint of the room. Then we moved the white tables that were against the wall into a U shape for working. Then we brought a projector to the room, and a whiteboard. Lastly we brought up chairs for the tables there, and we ordered big clipboards for working when sitting on the pews. Thanks for reading my blog post!

Here's the blueprint of the room by the way:
